Aaron's 32nd Birthday

Well, Aaron is another year older. Yesterday, 9/22, was his 32nd birthday.

In the morning he and the boys went golfing. They had a great time.

After lunch, they went to the tennis courts. Aaron played tennis with his boss while the boys played on the park equipment next to the courts.

We went out to supper with our parents and came back here for ice cream cake. Yummy!!

If you are wondering where I was this whole time - I had a scrapbooking crop this weekend, but Aaron assured me it was o.k. to miss golf and tennis:)

I think he had a great day, but he is VERY SORE today:)

A parent test??

I am beginning to think that all people should have to pass a test before they become parents...

I was teaching preschool the other day, and this little boy and his sister were still waiting for a ride at 3:40 (she was out at 3:15 and he was out at 3:30). So, I took them to the office. The secretary found a number for the parents and called (this took time because many of the numbers were disconnected).

She told the father that the kids were waiting to be picked up (by this time it was 3:50 - 35 minutes after school got out! He said he'd be there in a minute. I was going to head home since she was still in the office. I turned around and there stood the dad. He was literally there in 30 seconds!

The secretary asked him where he had been. He just smiled at her and kind of ignored her (there is also a language barrier here). In the end, we found out he had been sitting in his truck at the corner of the street since school was let out. He watched all the other kids get out and go to their cars and get picked up. When he apparently didn't see his children waiting he just sat there. He didn't apparently think of coming in to see where they were.

I was dumbfounded!!!

Nothing surprises me anymore.

Transformers

Last night I was reading to the boys. They picked out a Transformers book - based on the new movie. In the book the good transformer gets paralyzed by the bad one. When we were all done I asked them what their favorite parts were.

Austin said, "Mine was when the bad guys died and the good guys won. I feel bad though that the good guy is paralyzed. He'll be o.k. though, they'll just have to get a really big wheel chair."

It was so funny - he was SO serious, like it was a person he knew or something.

Soccer Time

Here are some pictures of Ethan's soccer team. Aaron is the coach of both the boy's teams. I will try to get pictures of Austin's team tonight. Ethan really loves it and thinks they "win" all of the time - even when there is no game:)
You'll notice that the coach's kid is the only one without his uniform on - oops!!

Silly dancing

The other night we were driving home from soccer and a song came on the radio that the boys absolutely loved. They were laughing and dancing like crazy!!!

Ethan and his buddies

I went to check on Ethan the other night and he had his "buddies" all around him in his bed. He must have been playing before he fell asleep. I thought it was cute:)

Ethan the cook!

The other morning Aaron and Ethan got up early (which is very rare!) and made waffles, eggs, and sausage. It was yummy!! Don't you love his smile!!

Mom T.'s new home!!!

Mom decided to move to The Meadows (an assisted living facility), so we have all been very busy getting her moved. Jessica was sick for 2 weeks, so she missed out on the actual move, but now we are busy working at the house and getting ready for the garage sale - so she is helping out with that now.

Mom's new apartment already feels like home and is SO nice! The Meadows is such a nice place. They give the residence care when needed and independence all at the same time.

We feel good knowing someone is always there to look out for her, and that she is still taking care of herself at the same time.

So far she seems to really be enjoying it - she is just still tired from all of the work we are doing. But then again, we are too:)

I tried to take pictures of the apartment, but it is so hard to take good pictures of rooms - it looks even better in person!!!

The first pictures are of the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and den, and balcony. She also has 2 bathrooms.
