Vacation
We went on a vacation to Omaha. Along the way we got to visit family and friends, go to the zoo, visit a safari, go to a water park, and just hang out and relax.
On Thursday night we went to North Bend to visit Jeff, Kristy, Rebekah, and Sarah. They threw Jessica a b-day party. It was a great time, but it went too quickly. Hopefully they will visit us in August though!
Nick and Tracie were nice enough to let us stay at their beautiful new house on Thursday and Friday night. Tracie had to leave Friday, so we missed her the rest of the weekend. Luckily, we did get to spend some fun time with Uncle Nick. He took the boys to a water park on Friday, grilled us a yummy supper, and even rented a movie for them. Saturday he also came to the safari with us.
We went to the zoo on Friday - it was 100 degrees!!!!- it was a great time. The new butterfly exhibit is awesome.
Saturday we went to the zoo's safari between omaha and lincoln. It was really cool. We even went out and hiked. Unfortuately, the trail we went on was muddy, difficult at times, and CLOSED! We didn't know until we got to the top:) We saw elk, bear, wolves - we waited a long time to see them get fed, but it was worth it, cranes, swans, bison, antelope, and more!
Saturday afternoon we got to go see Andrea, Logan, and Landon. Aaron took a little snooze while the boys played and the girls talked:) It was so nice to visit and watch the boys play. We wish that we lived closer!!
We went out for supper in Omaha before we headed home - we went to Ruby Tuesday's. It was yummy!
The only "not fun" part of our vacation was that we happened upon an accident. It was scary because we were the first ones to come upon it. It was a 17 year old girl. Luckily, she is o.k. If we had been about 20 seconds ahead of where we were - things would have been terrible. Thank God we are all o.k., and so is she.
